Keeing you updated with the latest Bromley CAMRA Branch news.
For the first time in many years, a beer from a reasonably local brewery has been voted “Beer of the Festival” at the 6th Beckenham beer festival which was held in July. We therefore hope that many of our members will take this rare opportunity to attend the presentation.
The winning brewery is Five Points from Hackney, so we will be visiting their brewery outlet – the famous Pembury Tavern in East London – at which the winning beer (Railway Porter) is expected to be one of several Five Points beers available.
Hackney Downs railway station is very close by, whilst Hackney Central station is also within comfortable walking distance.
Bus routes 38 (from Victoria and Central London), 48 (from London Bridge) and 55 (passes closes to Farringdon Thameslink station) all pass very close to the pub, and all are very high-frequency.
Since the best route to the pub will vary depending upon your starting point, we recommend using the TfL Journey planner.
