Day trip to Maidstone (joint social with Orpington Liberal Club)
A chance to visit some of the best pubs that Kent’s county town can offer the discerning cask ale drinker. Some walking will be involved but this shouldn’t be a problem for anyone of reasonable fitness.
The plan is to take the 11:12 train from Bromley South which calls at St Mary Cray at 11:18 and arrives at Maidstone East at 11:59. Our first port of call will be the Flower Pot. The timings for the remainder of the trip are not yet available, but the pubs are likely to include the Cellars Alehouse, the Olde Thirsty Pig, and finishing at The Rifle Volunteers which is near the station. All of these venues are Good Beer Guide regulars.
