This social could be affected by railway engineering work or by industrial action by railway employees – if so we will update this calendar entry as soon as we become aware.

But hopefully, this will be a first-ever visit by Bromley CAMRA to the picturesque and historic village of Aylesford in the Medway Valley, in a joint social with our friends at Orpington Liberal Club.

The plan is to catch the 11:06 from Bromley South (calling at St Mary Cray at 11:12) where most of the OLC contingent are likely to join us.   This train continues to Dover, but we change at Rochester and then Strood to get the Medway Valley branch line service to Aylesford, arriving at 12:19.   The station is just over half a mile from the pub.

The Little Gem is a grade II listed pub, and is now an outlet for Goachers beers which are brewed nearby.   There are also some other pubs (and a village club) in Aylesford.   The writer (TW) will probably try to visit the nearby Chequers which is also grade II listed, and looks like the highlight of the other pubs.
