This social begins at 7.30pm at the large and comfortable Railway Hotel , an Ember Inn with normally a reasonable selection of mainstream ales. A CAMRA discount is available. West Wickham railway station is about 2 minutes walk away. Bus users from Bromley can use the 352 service alighting at West Wickham (close to the pub) or the 119 alighting at High Street/Wickham Court Rd, in which case a ten minute walk is needed. From Beckenham use the 194 and alight at Station Rd/West Wickham Stn. Walk is about 3 minutes.
From there we will continue to the (West Wickham) Real Ale Way at 8.20pm. This is the second “Real Ale Way” to open in Bromley borough. It operates in a similar manner to its well-known predecessor in Hayes, with up to seven cask ales, usually sourced from smaller breweries in Kent, and dispensed by gravity from a coldroom.
