Gravesend social (joint event with Orpington Liberal Club).
Our last out-of-branch social before the clocks go back offers a chance to visit the riverside town of Gravesend and try some its excellent pubs.
Our plan is to meet at Sidcup Station to catch the 11:12 train. After a change of trains in Dartford we are due to arrive in Gravesend at 11:46. Sidcup station can be easily reached from Bromley North bus station using routes 269 or the relatively new SL5 Superloop routes. Both of these routes also stop near Bickley and then Chislehurst stations. (Members with a 60+ oyster card or a freedom pass only need to pay from Dartford.)
Our first stop will be at the Iron Pier brewery Tap after a short walk from the station. Three of the brewery’s cask ales are normally available. Subsequent pubs to be visited may include Three Pillars and the Compass Ale House amongst others.
